GM Free - Or is it?A food labelled 'GM Free' must be totally GM Free, the ACCC has cautioned. The GM debate is strong in Australia, and a moratorium still exists in most states. However, where GM labelling dies occur, and in the event that the use of genetically modified ingredients does become commercialised at some stage in the future, food businesses have been warned that they must excercise caution, and if a claim such as "GM Free" is being made, they must ensure that the food in fact contains zero GM ingredients. |
