Food Adelaide ticks another successful event off its calendar, as South Australian produce is showcased in China.
Food Adelaide and Maggie Beer drew sell out crowds for a series of South Australian food and beverage showcases at world renowned restaurants in Shanghai late last year.
The events were made possible through the support of the SA Food Centre Market Development program.
The week of showcases began with Food and Hotel China, a trade-only tradeshow held in Shanghai. The showcase enabled food businesses a low cost opportunity to be exposed in the competitive market and has already resulted in orders for businesses who have not exported to China previously.
Close liaison with chefs in Shanghai also resulted in valuable supplier relationships being formed and opportunities to showcase South Australia’s produce before decision makers in the Chinese value chain.
Maggie Beer and China based world renowned chefs worked with Food Adelaide to produce menus that showcased the superb food and beverage industry of our state.
Food Adelaide is now preparing for two major food and beverage tradeshows - Foodex to be held in Japan in March and HOFEX to be held in Hong Kong in May. The events will follow the showcase format used so successfully in China – good news for South Australian food and beverage businesses, as the format minimises costs for participants and maximises exposure as a group.
