Case Studies

The South Australian Food Centre has developed a range of case studies to inspire food businesses.

The case studies were developed as part of Professor Andrew Fearne’s ‘Thinker in Residence’ program.

Andrew says case studies are an effective way to inspire businesses that are considering alternative business models and need practical insights into the key success factors.

“During my visits I’ve discovered a number of successful food industry businesses that are embracing the key principles of value chain thinking – working collaboratively, making good use of information and developing a business model and marketing strategy that is fundamentally customer and consumer focussed,” Andrew said.

The case studies highlight the benefits of applying value chain principles to businesses, large and small and across a range of industry sectors and market segments.

Businesses showcased in the case studies include:

  • ABB Grain Ltd
  • Almondco
  • Australian Mushrooms
  • Barossa Fine Foods
  • Foodbank SA
  • Kinkawooka Shellfish
  • Maggie Beer Products
  • Richard Gunner’s Fine Meats
  • Tarac Technologies
