Exposure in Asia

Local food businesses are getting the international exposure they need to grow and export through Food Adelaide.

Food Adelaide’s busy calendar of international trade shows and special events is in full swing.
Food Adelaide is busy preparing for the South Australian Showcase at Food and Hotel Asia (FHA) to be held in Singapore in April 2010.

"FHA is the largest tradeshow in the region, held only biannually, and attracts serious importers and distributors of food and beverage products from around the world,” said Food Adelaide’s Clare Bagshaw.

Clare said Food Adelaide had secured one of the most prominent positions in the Australian Pavilion for the event, giving local food businesses a competitive edge.

Clare said expressions of interest are now also open for Food and Hotel China, Shanghai in November 2009.

Clare said the recent HOFEX Tradeshow was a great success. “With 12 South Australian businesses in the Showcase, the Food Adelaide stand attracted a great deal of attention. International buyers from across the Asian region showed great interest in products on display and businesses are now following up on the leads generated.”

Food Adelaide is also currently working on a Tool Kit for Small Businesses which will feature a range of fact sheets to assist food businesses in basic facets of establishing a business. The service aims to improve the productivity and sustainability of existing small businesses and assist people who are looking to establish a small food business.
