With the South Australian food industry’s vision for the next five years of creating food which is beyond expectations of all consumers, it is time to work together and shout it from the rooftops! Entries for The Thirteenth Annual South Australian Premier’s Food Industry Awards are now open.
The South Australian food industry is a consuming force that creates endless possibilities and opportunities. It is this innovation, commitment, talent and sustainability that will be celebrated at this year’s Premier’s Food Industry Awards.
The theme consume is based on the new South Australian Food Strategy 2010 – 2015. The vision, ‘South Australian Food - beyond the expectations of consumers around the globe’ recognises that consumers are the ultimate end user of our products. The fulfilment of their expectations and desires - including preferences for food and the production and delivery systems used - are fundamental to the success of the industry.
To reflect the new Strategy, the Awards feature a number of new initiatives and improvements.
The Awards are committed to representing the South Australian food industry and this year entry has been extended to include more businesses than ever – those that are involved in the food industry along the whole value chain.
This means all SA food related businesses, not just finished foods as well as beverages, including beer and liquor, are eligible to enter (with the exclusion of wine).
So if you are a grower, distributor, restaurant, retailer, association, equipment manufacturer or any other business within the SA food industry then you are eligible to enter the Premier’s Food Industry Awards.
To bring everyone together in the SA food industry the Award categories have also been improved with new names and a few new Award categories.
