Innovation and New Product Development

The South Australian Food Centre is supporting finished food businsses with resources to assist in:

  • Innovating business processes and systems
  • Improving food safety and integrity

The following initiatives are being developed for you to access:

SA Food Centre

A one stop facility linking the resources and services of PIRSA, South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI), Department of Trade and Economic Development (DTED) and TAFE SA.

Located at Regency International Centre at TAFE SA, the SA Food Centre includes two Food Technologists who's role is to assist businesses identify issues and find solutions in the areas of new product development, process improvement, packaging, trouble shooting and technical issues.

It provides businesses with the opportunity to access food processing facilities, development kitchens, laboratories and a whole lot more.

Graduate Assistance Program (GAP)

GAP has been developed to provide you access to a graduate who can work on projects to help your business grow.

Innovation Mentoring

Assisting businesses innovate by providing mentoring from experts in new product development, marketing, lean manufacturing and process improvement.

Innovation Forum

A series of workshops with topics focussed on packaging, shelf life, process improvement and new technologies.

New Product Development Program

Assisting businesses develop new products through a series of workshops in partnership with the University of SA.
